Camalama's Wedding

Soooo, this past weekend my brother, Cameron, married his best friend, Miss Katie.  It was a beautiful wedding, and so great to see family members I didn't get to spend much time with at our wedding in September.  I drove away and forgot our camera, so I wasn't able to get a ton of pictures.  Sad, I know.  But I was able to snag a few from others.  Travis was a groomsmen, so I had the pleasure of attending the wedding with a few fun, lovely ladies.  Nancy, Rhonda, and my new friend Gina were my wedding buddies. Very happy to announce we made it on time, WITHOUT getting lost!  They were the perfect wedding dates (besides being able to take my wonderful husband of course).   Travis got to be the lone ranger and chauffeur the 5 of us around all weekend.  I know he considers himself the luckiest man out there!  Another side note, the baby bump became a baby bump over the weekend. So crazy!  Gut one day, bump the next!

The bride and groom were too cute.  Katie looked beautiful, and Cam looked so grown up. When did that happen?!?!  It was fun to sit back and reminisce memories of our little Cameron.  And now, he's married!!  Time flies...

Next on the horizon is the much anticipated wedding of Leah and Bo!  I'm sad we have to wait until next July to celebrate, BUT it was soooo fun hanging out and getting to know Leah more!  Such a sweet beautiful person inside and out!  Here's a fun pic from the night.  Next time, I have to remember hand on hip!  So missed that memo! BUT, I did remember to show the baby bump!

16 Weeks!

Between packing, finishing up our Austin clients by myself, moving, and unpacking, the blog has kinda suffered.  I couldn't believe my last preggo update was 4 weeks ago!  I really intended to do weekly updates/pics, but that just wasn't high on the priority list.  I'm going to try and redeem myself here in the next week.  


I can hardly believe I'm at 16 weeks now!  I'm feeling a TON better now, and pretty much any annoyance at this point is NOTHING compared to the daily puking I was enduring the first 13.5 weeks.  In fact,  my first week with no vomitting kinda freaked me out.  All I've known is sickness, so to not be sick felt odd to me.  Not that I missed it, but my preggo mind immediately started getting paranoid like something was wrong.   Sad, I know.  BUT, I've embraced the non-puling phase, and embraced the "does she have a gut or is she pregnant" phase.  I know all you moms know what I'm tailing about.  First time I really had to get dressed for something was not the funnest experience.  I was definitely rocking the gut, not cute pregnant girl look.  I was just telling a friend I have to tell myself over and over "it's not a gut. it's not a gut."


Anyways, here's week 16 update.  Hope you're all doing well!

Total weight gain/loss: Still in a loss from the start, but I've put on about 1.5lbs
Maternity clothes? Nope
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping pretty good.  The dreams are ridiculous!
Best moment this week: Working out this week!!
Miss Anything?  I was REALLY craving a nice, big glass of wine this week!
Movement: Not really.  This morning had a little movement, but not really sure it was baby or gas?
Food cravings:  Finally done with hot dogs and Doritos (thankfully), now I'm on to grapes, strawberries, orange juice still pretty big, cereal, and little bout with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Coffee for sure
Have you started to show yet: getting a little bump, but honestly feel it's more gas than anything else ;-)
Gender prediction:  Still thinking boy, but who knows!
Labor Signs: Not even a little
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Doing much, much, MUCH better!!
Looking forward to: Feeling more movement, and finally being able to do some shopping!

14 Weeks...Sorry, no picture!

Total weight gain: gained back 1/2 lb last week!

Stretch marks? none yet
Sleep:  pretty good.  peeing several times a night makes deep sleep hard...that and the crazy dreams!
Best moment this week: Travis surprised me and came home this weekend! nice to have some help this weekend!Miss Anything? I still miss eating.  It's getting better, but still not fantastic
Food cravings: I have been obsessed with hot dogs, dioritos, and orange juice
Anything making you queasy or sick: still can't eat chicken.  anytime after 4:00 pm is hard to eat anything
Gender predictions: i'm thinking boy, but don't know anything official yet 
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms : slight cramping now and then.  think my body is expanding more and more these days

Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: lots of emotions. crying at virtually anything!
Looking forward to: still looking forward to being able to eat normal again.  or at least eat some decent food.  feel all i can stomach is crap food!

12 Weeks

Sleep:  the nausea is worst in the evening, so going to bed hungry often. makes it harder to go to sleep, but definitely getting my 10 hours!
Best moment this week: definitely actually being able to go on a date with my husband Friday night.  it was a good day!
Miss Anything? oh my gosh, where do i start?!?!  i miss eating, eating, and eating.  
Movement: not yet
Food cravings: not a one.  HATE food at this point
Anything making you queasy or sick: yes. everything
Gender: i've been thinking boy, but now i'm kinda going the other way 
Labor Signs:  not even close
Symptoms:  just tons of nausea, BUT at least not vomiting everyday anymore

Times....They Are A Changin'

Well, the latest and greatest is that we are moving.  I've always been honest with my slight dislike with living in Austin, and God has finally answered my prayers!  We're moving back home at the end of the month!  I am so. Stinkin. Excited.  Travis left today to start his new job working for a great gym in Mansfield, Texas.  I'm staying back for a couple weeks to pack up, finish up our clients, and make the move back home.  We haven't quite found a place to live yet, but I'm confident God will provide something soon.  We just are so grateful and excited to be back near friends and family!

I'll be teaching some classes at the gym, and hoping to find a few clients of mine own to train.  With not really knowing how soon I'll be feeling better, it's hard to think about working many hours a week.  I have to tell ya, I have a whole new level of respect and awe for those mom-to-be's who keep a full-time job and deal with all this sickness.  It really is brutal!  So, huge kudos to you, because I am apparently the biggest wuss ever.

I'll keep the updates coming...but we will be back in the DFW area March 1st!!  YIPPEE!

My Life in Chronological Whitney Order

When you talk to people about what kind of music you grew up hearing, Whitney Houston was one of them for me.  I can remember Whitney, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, just some amazing R&B artist.  Kinda random when I think about it, but it's what stands out.  I not only remember her when I was little, but quite honestly throughout my life.  I've decided to do a timeline of my life through Whitney songs from beginning to end.

First up...no words are really necessary for this one.  Let's dance!


This next one I was about 10 when it came out.  Babysitters introduced me to MTV, and I totally remember this video.  How much am I wishing I had a picture to share with y'all of how I pretty much replicated her hairstyle waaaaay past the point it was cool.  We're talking frizzed out perm, huge bows and all!


Starts getting harder here, because I was obsessed with the movie Bodyguard.  Drive in movie 6th grade.  Never will forget it.  Here's a couple from the movie, but let's be honest, the whole soundtrack was money.


And of course..



The movie Waiting to Exhale is next.  It was a pretty good soundtrack.  "Exhale" was the one that must comes to mind.


In high school she came out with "My Love is Your Love."   My best friend, Katie, and I rocked this album all summer long.  We had some of your typical boy drama, so we particularly loved this one.

Around the same time she did a duet with another one of my favorites growing up, Mariah Carey.  Although this song came out at the same time as her "My Love Is Your Love" album, for some reason it reminds me of college more.  I can remember my college roommate and I singing this as a duet with our fake mics and all.  Ashlie actually does have a voice, so she may have actually been doing it some justice!


Whitney started struggling around this time, and kinda fell off the radar.  The only songs that I really remember were from her Christmas album.  It's hard to find videos from the last years, since she wasn't preforming very often.  Here's what I could find.


I am saddened by her passing.  It seems she really struggled through the last several years of her life.  She was truly a talent, and impacted so many lives.  Praying for her family and friends! Thanks for the memories Whitney!

31, A Fun Year Behind Me, A BIg Year Ahead

Another year, more excitement.  I will say I wasn't as thrilled about 31 as I was 30.  31 just seems so anti-climatic.  Not to mention the fact I'm feeling awful these days growing this "bundle of joy" inside of me.  Unfortunately, due to feeling so horrible, we couldn't go to dinner let alone have a cupcake to celebrate.  Although it sounds pretty gloomy, I know Travis and I have a big, exciting year ahead of us.

But, before we look ahead, let's look back at the year's highlights...

Took Travis to my grandma's lake house for the first time.  It was my grandmother's 80th birthday!  Love this place.  Tons of relaxing, and even did some fishin.

April brought the surprise engagement.  LOVE my ring...and Travis of course!!

May we took a fun trip to Fredricksburg.  Ate lots of good food, drank some good beer, and did some fantastic shopping!

In June we took lots of pictures.   Took our engagement pics, and did my bridals.  They both turned out better than we ever could have expected!  Leslie Spurlock is amazing.

Funny thing about this last one is the beer bottles in the bottom corner.  We loved Shiner's summer beer, and brought a couple to enjoy for the hours we were out taking pictures.  They ended up making a picture!

July continued the hot, hot, and even hotter summer.  Hottest summer on record!  I drove into Ft Worth for my bridal shower.  So much fun getting to spend time with my girls!  Katie did a great job hosting!

August was a big, fun month of lingerie and bachelorette craziness.  Lacy did an amazing job with the lingerie shower, and all the girls planned a super fun weekend on Lake Travis.  Sadly enough, with the horrible heat came a drought, and the lake was super low.  Seriously sad to see how low the lake was!  BUT, we still had so much fun renting a boat (with just us girls), and spending a weekend dancing, singing, and getting as crazy as we wanted!

September was one of the biggest and best months of my life!  I got to marry my best friend, celebrate it with our amazing family and friends, and then go away with him for 8 days to an amazing beach!! Our honeymoon was nothing short of beautiful and amazing!  If only we could go there every year!  P.S. if you'r needing suggestions on beaches, just ask.  Would highly recommend where we were!

I would of thought the rest of the year would have been uneventful. That it would consist of me and Travis enjoying life settling into being newlyweds.  BUT, we were in for another HUGE life change.  November came and went.  Ran the Turkey Trot with Lace, and enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving in Arlington with my family.  Come December we would stumble upon some big news...

We're having a baby!!  My mom and Joe were planning on moving to Tennessee to start building their house in March, so Travis' parents were nice enough to invite my parents down for Christmas this year.  It really worked out perfectly, because we would actually all be together to share the news.  You can look back a couple of posts where I told the whole story.  Since I just posted about Christmas not to long ago, I'm not going to post more pics from December.  

And January...my last month being 30.  It really came and went.  We have been busy busy figuring out (more like waiting on God) to see what our future looks like.  Fun, exciting things to come!  I'll post more about that soon!  

So, here's to another year in my thirty's!  To continued life as newlyweds.  To the hopes, fears, and excitement this little bundle of joy growing inside me will bring!  And most importantly, to all that God has in store for our sweet growing family! Cheers!

Last Christmas Without the LIttle One!

It was kinda crazy to think this would be our last Christmas with just the two of us.  This time next year, Lord willing, we will have a cute little few month old baby with us.  It was also pretty cool that this year Travis's parents had just happened to invite my Mom and Joe down to share Christmas with all of us.  It's cool to see how God orchestrated us being together with such great news to share!  Who knew we'd be announcing we were pregnant!

Another new thing this year is I'm a brunette now!  I did it before I realized I was preggers, and figured it worked out well because this brunette thing is a TON easier than the blonde.  I'll make my way back to blonde one day, but for now we're gonna stay dark.  Here are some pics from our Christmas in Houston:

Baby, Oh Baby

Soooo, we're having a baby!  The world pretty much knows by now, but after being harassed by a sweet friend that my blog had been lacking for quiet some time now, I decided to get this thing going again.

I pretty much knew I was pregnant before I took the test.  All those lovely changes that start taking place were happening, and I knew something was different.  It was the weekend of December 18th, and we had been home to Arlington to have an early Christmas with my Dad, step mom, and the Kashubas all weekend, but all I kept thinking about was getting home to take a test.  Sure enough, it was positive.  Even though I pretty much knew what that test was going to say, I was shaking like crazy!  I couldn't believe it actually said positive! Travis and I just looked at each other saying, "Oh crap. This is happening!"  We could hardly believe it.

The next weekend was Christmas. We would be celebrating Christmas in Houston with both of our families.   Since my parents were driving down to have Christmas with us, we decided it would be the perfect time to tell them.  So I wrapped up cute little onesies that said "What happens at Grandmas stays at Grandmas," and cute little ones for the grandpas as well.  Travis and I tried to do a video and take pictures, but once everyone started figuring it out there was way too much yelling and screaming to focus on taking pictures!  I did get a good one of Joe's face right after though, and of course it's on my mom's camera!

After telling just the parents, I wanted to wait until we officially heard the heartbeat to tell everyone else.  Our appointment was last Monday, January 23rd.  The grandparents were going crazy not being able to tell anyone, and knew I was going in around 1:30.  Needless to say they were anxiously awaiting the "go ahead" call shortly after.  Facebook got the news, and the rest is history!

I'm about 10 weeks and 3 days.  We're due around August 25th.  Yay for getting to be in my last trimester in the blazing, horrible heat of Texas.  I cannot imagine how miserable I'm going to be come August!  Lord, help us all!!  So far the pregnancy has been B-R-U-T-A-L!  I'm talking the worst nausea and vomitting imaginable.  Seriously, it has been hard.  I never thought I was that much of a wuss, but I don't know how all you moms out there do it...more than once!  I've prayed this is twins so I don't have to go through this again!  I am praying and praying I get the 12 week break everyone talks about.  Trying to hold on for a couple more weeks.

Sorry for all the blog silence.  Not expecting a ton of readers at this point, but with all the resting and sickness, I'm going to get back on the blogging wagon.  Hope you each are doing well!

Shower time!

Ok, so these next few posts will be out of order, but my good friend, Brenda, just blogged about my last shower, so I'm going to take the lazy way out and send you over to her blog to read about it.   It was, without question, the funnest (yes funnest) lingerie shower I have ever been to!  Lacy Beckler, once again, you out did yourself in the planning!  This is girl is so stinkin creative! So so so lucky to have such great friends!  We seriously laughed so hard we cried.  Such good times. 

Can't wait til the bachelorette shenanigans for this weekend!!!
